Discover Scuba Class

The Discover Scuba Class is designed to get you in the pool with scuba gear, this class will give you the chance to try scuba diving in a controlled environment with a professional scuba instructor, who will help you with the transition into the underwater world.

All you will need is a bathing suit and a smile; we provide all gear for the Discover Scuba Class.

Scuba Diver (beginner scuba class)

Your underwater adventure begins! Imagine watching the water level move up your mask as you slowly go below the surface - and continue to breathe! It's the most exciting feeling imaginable and yours when you become a NAUI Scuba Diver!

Scuba Diver is our entry level scuba certification course during which you will learn the fundamental knowledge and skills to safely scuba dive in open water. When you complete your class you will be free to explore and discover the many wonders of the underwater world, and you will have earned a NAUI Scuba Diver certification card – the most respected diver certification card in the world!

The NAUI Scuba Diver Course is a lifetime certification that allows you to enjoy scuba diving anywhere in the world. Our scuba diver course has two classroom session, four pool sessions and five open water dives, the course is usually done over two weeks and a weekend. Open water check out dives, are scheduled at the end of each scuba diver course. In the warmer months (April to November) we do the check out dives at a local quarry.


Minimum Age:10
Prerequisites:None
Materials:Included NAUI Scuba Diver student kit (DVD, CD, table, log book, manual, work book)
Class Length: 2 Classroom Sessions
Dives:3-4 confined water (pool) sessions and 5 open water dives (not pool)
Equipment: Snorkel Gear (mask, snorkel, fins, boots) package available for $150, or rented for $25
Schedule: Classes are two week with Classroom sessions on Tuesday 6:30-8:30pm, and Pool sessions on Wed. & Thur. 6:45-9:30pm
Cost: $300 (this includes training materials, use of scuba gear and check out dives at quarry)

Nitrox - $99

TDI Nitrox course is an entry level course for divers wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox as a breathing gas. Little else has impacted recreational diving more than the introduction of nitrox, allowing more time underwater. During this course, you will learn the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for diving with 22% oxygen to 40% oxygen, your professional TDI Instructor will also cover equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, analyzing nitrox. The course follows an easy to read and understand nitrox manual titled Understanding Nitrox.

NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver Course - $150

Let your underwater adventure continue! Apply your scuba skills as you explore new dive sites and activities under the supervision and training of your NAUI Instructor. Learn which diving specialties interest you, and what type of diving you enjoy most. Gain more confidence and capability. Begin to consider the direction diving will take you, as you go for everything it has to offer.

The Advanced Scuba Diver course is an enjoyable certification course for 12-year-old (or older) certified divers who desire additional training, have moved from one diving area to another and desire local orientation, or do not have but wish to obtain NAUI certification, or who desire orientation to a variety of diving sites and conditions.

As part of your certification, you will complete a minimum of six open water dives including three separate dives for navigation, night or low visibility diving and deep diving (130 feet/40 meters maximum depth), plus three different dives. Some of the many different dives you can do include:
  • Search and recovery
  • Boat diving
  • Light salvage
  • Hunting and collecting
  • Exploration and underwater mapping
  • Wreck diving (non-penetration)
  • Observation and data collection
  • Diving in surf or currents
  • Altitude diving
  • Salt water diving (in areas where most diving is in fresh water)
  • Fresh water diving (in areas where most diving is in salt water)
  • Shore diving
  • Diving for photos or video
  • Using dive computers

Scuba Rescue Diver - $150

This course trains divers in the knowledge and skills needed to manage risks and effectively handle limited in-water problems and diving emergencies. Included are: assists, transports, surface rescues and rescues from depth involving both boat and shore based skin and scuba divers. You will learn skills such as how to perform self rescues, buddy rescues, recognize and calm potential panic divers, administer proper first aid to divers that have experienced dive related injuries, conduct effective search patterns and manage accident scenes.

NAUI Master Scuba Diver Course - $200

Gain the in-depth knowledge that will establish you as a recognized authority in your diving club or group. Thrill to the adventure of open water dives in settings that will test your abilities to their limit while expanding your diving capabilities and experience. Then proudly carry the most coveted and respected certification card in recreational diving - that of the NAUI Master Scuba Diver.

The Master Scuba Diver course is a continuing education certification course for divers who wish to increase their understanding and enjoyment of diving. This course is an excellent progression toward NAUI Leadership roles.

During your training, you will engage in a minimum of eight open water dives including the following required dives:
  • Emergency procedures and rescue
  • Deep/simulated decompression diving/li>
  • Limited visibility or night diving
  • Underwater navigation
  • Search and recovery – light salvage
You can also choose from many different dives for your elective dives such as:
  • Skin diving
  • Environmental study or survey
  • Air consumption (practical application)
  • Boat diving
  • Shore diving
  • Hunting and collecting
  • Or other special interest dives


Minimum Age:15
Prerequisites:Advanced Scuba Diver or equivalent, and Nitrox
Materials:NAUI Master Diver student kit $50
Class Length: 2 days classroom, 2 days diving

Schedule: This class is usually held once a month on a Saturday & Sunday.

Advanced Scuba Rescue Diver - $250

This is a certification course for certified scuba divers who desire to assume greater rescue capabilities during diving activities. The training emphasizes accident supervision and management with practical applications in open water. This course is designed specifically to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to:
  • Help prevent diving accidents
  • Recognize life-threatening diving situations/li>
  • Correctly initiate and/or supervise rescue/assist procedures
  • Effectively perform in-water rescue/assist techniques and procedures
  • Correctly manage rescue assistants during and after rescues
  • Provide immediate, effective post-rescue aid
  • Correctly manage a diving emergency with adjustments for local variants


Minimum Age:17
Prerequisites:Advanced Scuba Diver or equivalent, and Nitrox
Materials:You will need the Rescue Scuba Diver kit
Class Length: 1 night pool, 2 day open water

Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures - $600

At NADCO we teach the Adv. Nitrox and Deco Procedures as a combined course. With this combination you will be able to, set up you gear and plan deco dives (using 21%-100%O2) to depth of 150ft. You will also be trained in contingency planning, gas management, proper fin techniques. These courses are the foundation of your technical diving career.

Extended Range - $600

Certain areas of the world provide spectacular dives at depths deeper than 39m/130 feet but you will not have access (or very limited access) to helium. The TDI Extended Range course teaches you the proper techniques for utilizing compressed air as a breathing gas and with a maximum depth of 55m/180 feet you won’t have to miss those dives.

Trimix (Normoxic Trimix/200ft max depth)

As your motivation to explore progresses you will find that you may want to go deeper to dive that wreck that is part of history or that cave system that you have read so much about. One of the major limiting factors of going deeper is narcosis; TDI’s Trimix Diver course shows how to minimize the effects of narcosis by adding helium to offset the nitrogen in your breathing gas. While taking the Trimix Diver course your TDI Instructor will teach you how to plan and execute dives utilizing as little as 18 percent oxygen and diving to maximum depth of 60 m/200 feet with a blend of helium appropriate for the planned depth.

Advanced Trimix - $800

The TDI Advanced Trimix Diver course is the top level of training for open circuit divers wishing to dive to depths as deep as 100 m / 330 feet utilizing hypoxic levels of oxygen (below 17 percent). This course is perhaps one of the most informative and challenging and upon completion you are among some of the most elite divers.

The TDI Advanced Trimix manual is one of the most up to date manuals and includes all the latest of technology and practices being used.
